And let's just say things have not gone the way many students have planned (and worked hard for!) with CAPE and CSEC.
October SAT Scores are also out! Our AIMers did REALLY well... with one of our students scoring 1580! What really counts to us though is MOVEMENT of your score from when you came in and did the Diagnostic to test day - and we are happy to report movements of 200, 300 and even 400 points.
Now that you have these really key Academic Indicators (AI's) ...
➡️Revise College List
If you are and you have gotten results that might not make you as competitive for those schools it is very important to look at your college list and make the necessary changes.
Perhaps schools that were merely reaches are now *far* reaches, and your targets are now reaches, this means that you need more safety school options.
➡️Reconsider EA / ED
If based on your results you need more time to show academic strength (Upper 6 Semester I final grades for example) OR you need to bump your SAT score up this December ... DO NOT APPLY EA or ED.
🤔 Yes I know we are HUGE proponents of EA/ED but if your academic strength needs to be bolstered, you risk being denied from your top choice school because decisions will be made on the basis of the scores and grades you submit now.
➡️Remark
Please do not hesitate to send your CAPE or CSEC grades in to be REMARKED. We have had students who have had successful remarks and this changes the WHOLE game.
➡️Retake the SATs in December
We highly recommend up to 3 sittings of the SAT to superscore and show academic strength.
➡️Ask Your Guidance Counselor / School Official / Teacher to Address the Grade in your Recommendation
Just because you want to pretend it didn't happen DOES NOT MEAN colleges will. You can't pretend it's not there and hope they won't see it - not a solution.
Instead take on this 🚩🚩🚩 read flag head on! If there was a trend at your school in terms of unexpectedly lower grades have your counselor speak to that. Have your teacher explain what she/he would have predicted for you and your strength in the subject area.

2. Taking a AP exam to offset the CSEC score in that subject area
3. Getting a super high SAT score to bolster academic profile
Please do ALL 3 if you are applying to highly competitive schools. Even a single Grade 2 can compromise your chances at these schools (especially if you're international needing a full ride).
For other schools it won't matter ... and we believe in FIT not name brand... so know your profile and act accordingly.
